Where EOD Expertise Comes to a Boil

We kicked off this summer in the best possible way—with another successful and truly enjoyable Home-Made Explosives Course – Advanced (HMEC-A) in Slovakia, organized in two dates: 15-19 JUN and 22-26 JUN 2026.

Over the past few weeks, we had the pleasure of training two brand-new classes of HMEC-A graduates, bringing together 31 participants from across NATO and partner nations. The first class was attended primarily by participants from our Sponsoring Nations, joined by students from Canada, Denmark, the Netherlands, Latvia, and Lithuania. The second class was even more diverse, as we welcomed EOD personnel from Spain, Greece, Belgium, Luxembourg, France, Italy, as well as the Netherlands and Denmark.

Just like any well-made charge, HMEC-A is carefully packed—dense, focused, and designed to deliver maximum effect in a short amount of time. Throughout both classes, participants strengthened their knowledge through a combination of classroom lectures, various practical scenarios, and hands-on experience. Just as importantly, they had the opportunity to exchange ideas, share operational lessons learned, and build valuable professional connections with fellow EOD specialists.

Beyond the classroom, what truly sets HMEC-A apart is the strong network of long-standing partnerships behind it. For many years, we have had the privilege of working alongside outstanding organizations and Subject Matter Experts who are at the forefront in the field of HME. Their professionalism, expertise, operational experience, and continuous support ensure that the course remains current, relevant, and firmly rooted in real-world practice – qualities that continue to make HMEC-A a benchmark for excellence in HME education.

Finally, our sincere thanks and congratulations go to every participant. Your trust, enthusiasm, and positive feedback inspire us to keep raising the bar. We are proud to play a small part in your professional journey and personal growth, and even prouder to welcome every new graduate into our ever-growing HME community.

Think you've got what it takes? Come and join the mission!
