TSD´ Vision

To enable NATO EOD capability transformation by providing strategic foresight, capability development expertise, doctrinal leadership, and lessons learned analysis that support the continuous adaptation, interoperability, and effectiveness of Allied EOD capabilities.

TSD´ Mission

The Transformation Support Department contributes to NATO's transformation process by supporting the NATO. Defence Planning Process (NDPP), developing and advancing EOD policies, concepts, doctrine and standards, managing the EOD Lessons Learned process, and providing expert analysis and recommendations to support  future EOD capability requirements across the Alliance.

TSD´ Role

The TSD serves as the EOD COE's focal point for transformation-related activities, ensuring alignment between NATO strategic direction and EOD capability development. It supports the development of NATO EOD policies and doctrine, promotes interoperability and standardization, facilitates capability development and defence planning activities, and captures lessons learned to drive continuous improvement. The department also maintains liaison and cooperation with NATO bodies, member nations, partners, and relevant organizations to advance EOD-related transformation objectives.

TSD´ Functional Elements

Capability Development and Defence Planning (CDDP) Branch

Responsible for supporting NATO Defence Planning Process activities, identifying capability requirements and gaps, contributing to capability development initiatives, and providing expertise on future EOD capability needs and interoperability requirements.

 

Policies, Concepts, Doctrine and Standardization (PCDS) Branch

Responsible for the development, review, implementation, and harmonization of EOD policies, concepts, doctrine, and standards, while ensuring coherence with NATO strategic guidance and standardization efforts.

 

Lessons Learned and Analysis (LLAB) Branch

Responsible for managing the EOD Lessons Learned process, conducting analysis of operational experiences and emerging trends, and producing recommendations that support capability development, doctrine evolution, and organizational improvement.
