On February 26, 2026, the NATO Explosive Ordnance Disposal Centre of Excellence (EOD COE) had the privilege of hosting a distinguished delegation from the Central European CBRN-E Training Centre (CE CBRN-E TC). This visit marked a significant step in strengthening cooperation between the two institutions in the fields of EOD and CBRN-E defence.
The guest delegation was led by COL Imre KISS (HUN), Head of HNP BDU and Acting Chief of the CE CBRN-E TC. The visitors were received by the NATO EOD COE leadership, headed by the Director, COL František MIHALOVIČ (SVK-A), alongside the Centre’s Deputy Director, LTC Blake ZENTENO (USA-A), Chief of Staff, COL Zsolt SZILÁGYI (HUN-A), and Department Heads.
The primary objective of the meeting was to exchange expertise, discuss mutual training capabilities, and explore future collaborative opportunities to enhance regional security and specialized technical readiness. The official program commenced with a comprehensive briefing on the Centre's operational framework, followed by an in-depth overview of our specialized education and training programs. One highlight was a practical demonstration of the ETACS project. After this, the floor was given to the CE CBRN-E TC team, who shared their unique "Know-How" and provided valuable insights into their specific training methodologies.
The visit concluded with a significant milestone the signing of the Collaboration Agreement. This formal act, accompanied by the signing of the Book of Honour and an official photo session in the flags' lobby, solidifies both organizations’ commitment to working closely together.
