EOD COE Representative Attends the 2025 NATO Allied Foresight Conference in Rome

 

Mr. Vladimir Vostiar represented the EOD COE at the 2025 NATO Allied Foresight Conference (AFC), held in Rome from 7 to 9 October 2025 and hosted by the NATO Defence College (NDC), which opened the event with welcoming remarks.

Bringing together strategic thinkers, defence experts, and innovators, the AFC 2026 serves as a key platform for shaping NATO’s long-term vision and preparedness. This year’s guiding motto “Tomorrow Starts Today” inspired discussions on how the Alliance can proactively shape the evolving security landscape. The conference underscored the importance of strategic foresight in anticipating complex global challenges, highlighting the need for adaptability, technological awareness, and AI fluency across military and civilian domains. Participants also explored adversary ambitions, conceptual vulnerabilities, and innovative approaches such as wargaming and scenario planning to strengthen proactive defense thinking.

By contributing to this forward-looking dialogue, the EOD COE reaffirmed its commitment to NATO’s shared mission of innovation, foresight, and resilience — truly embodying the spirit of the conference motto: “Tomorrow Starts Today.”
